Father’s Day

Tuesday, June 14, 2016

My first blog, so here I go. As Father’s Day approaches, I thought I would share some memories and good habits that I’ve developed over the years by observing and listening to his advice. My desire to own a business came at a very young age, as I would see my Dad work in his shop and love what he did. My Father’s plan was to have me work in the office and let me tell you I am the furthest thing from sitting at a desk all day and plugging away at numbers and invoices lol. When I was 20 years old (1996) and all my girlfriends where gone to college or university I was still trying to figure out a way to make a living by opening up a business of my own. I figured if Dad could do it, why not me. I saw in my fathers’ office a big yellow phone book from Montreal.  I started looking and decided that I would open an accessory boutique.  I hoped in my white Hyundai car (that I leased!) and away I went 11 hrs away from home with my yellow phone book…. Scared but determined that I would make this work. I had my business for 5 years and had lots of ups and down but most of all  I learned that if you put your mind to it, you could do anything. Go for it, reach for the universe. Tell yourself that ” I, CAN,, NOT CAN’T” . And if you read my Biography you will see that at the age of forty-two I did another BOLD MOVE. I left for a year and went and studied Esthetics for one year. It was the hardest thing I’ve ever done to leave my husband and my daughter at that time she was thirteen. When you have a great partner and support it does make things a lot easier. YOU HAVE TO BELIEVE IN SOMETHING WHY NOT YOURSELF. I’ve been doing aesthetics for thirteen years and still have a passion for it. I hope you follow week after week. As I will be giving tips of the trade and motivational tips. This is another journey that I would love to have inputs and comments about whatever we need to talk about from week to week. BEAUTY STARTS FROM YOUR INNER SELF START BY LOVING WHO YOU ARE, AND YOUR DAY WILL BE MUCH BRIGHTER. Dad, I just want to say, thank you so much for believing in me. Wishing you a Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads out there!
